"Porcelain becomes the carrier of portrait photographs, aged in the damp traces of burnt salts like the faces it bears, fragile but not subject to the ageing of organic matter."

Claudia Postel, art historian/gallerist

An installation on the subject of old age and transience, but also on our treatment of old people in society, precisely "discarded" with their knowledge and the insights of a long life. In addition to the aesthetic component, the use of porcelain refers to the fact that we derive our knowledge about vanished societies predominantly from ceramic shards - everything that is burnt onto them lasts longer than any other information carrier.
